« on: December 10, 2006, 02:17:05 pm »

Hi All
I am trying to find some pictures of "Louise Heloise" a friend of mine just got some plans in scale1:10 but it would be very helpfull with some pictures !
I have a  copy of "Model Boats" magazine from Nov 2004,  there is a small picture ,and some text where you can read that Cyril Bagshaw at Chantry Model Club has build this ship, so if anyone knows where I might can get in touch with either Cyril Bagshaw or the Club, I would be very greatfull.....

Well done, a real nice boat!  :)

Do you have some more pics? Would like to know how you made it?

The figures are 1:10 home made,  one is my dad the other my father- in-law. I used polymer clay on a wire frames this is then baked in the oven and the figures painted.
I used a commercial hull which to be honest was very poor quality. I have more photos but I have had some problems with the downloading I will try again tonight.

I knew that the hull wasn't a Y2K, which is a rather unusual multi-chine thing. I've got one sitting unstarted on a shelf in my workshop, it's a long way from being the best moulding I've seen, but more or less adequate, and I'm told that they sail well. Any chance of a suggestion about the hull you did use for your 'Louise Heloise' though, just to give the rest of us a chance to avoid it?

All I need to say is that it is sold as the LOUISE HELOISE as far as I know it is the only one on the market so if you see it dont bother.

TIGERTIGER I have sent you a PM. I should add that I contacted the guy who produces the hull and point out the problems (asymmetrical hull which required a lot of plastic padding to put right). He subcontracts the work out to produce the hulls and I did purchase one of the first pulled from the mold, He may well have corrected the problem by now so give him a ring he was infact very receptive to what I had to say.
