hi people,
I am new here :-)
just to say howdy to all, returning to boating after about 40 years :-)
been RC for a few years now.....running futaba 6eh 2.4 TX and a couple of cheaper 2.4gig as well........for Helli's and bikes/quads.....
I have been scale modeling for a number of years, the latest being finished 2 years ago..........1/200 (4ft)  HMS PRINCE of WALES... WW11 KGV Battleship.completely from scrap box......empty now  :-)
so looking to go boating and less flying.........(££££) crashing a Helli gets expensive for very little cause.
I am starting with a 1950's type cabin cruiser at 405cm legnth and 103cm beam,
I am thinking of powering it with a 400 size electric..not a fan of liquid fuels...too noisy for me now that I'm 'recycled' :-)

regards

"400 size electric" - that should by OK for cruising but a 540 should give you a bit more 'anti angry wildlife' emergency power.  :-)

Hi, Don and welcome aboard :}

Pics of your scale ships would be welcomed (pics are always welcome)

Er, Not to contradict Martin, but at 4.05M long this will need something more akin to a 5HP Honda Outboard :}

I'm going to take wild guess that the spot is in the worng place (like my spelling) and its 405mm x 105mm
Sounds nice - Martin is dead right (as usual) - how fast do you want to be?
