four wheel fold down trolley
« on: January 17, 2010, 11:19:26 am »

Ok gents heres something to get your teeth I'm after a fold down trolley to go into the car along side my boats
for all those who have been following my build of the Sir Lancelot wil know its along one around 5foot in lengh  and will weight around 56lbs so the trolley must hold the weight and not to be so heavy to lift into the car.
I say 4 wheels but I have a carrier a friend gave me its great for my other boats made from a golf trolly with rubber wheels which is great but it tips over when I put the Sir Lancelot on it then it was to small.
OK gents I will leave it with you all and look forward to all the great reply from you.
Forgot to say the trolly I would like to get is the ones Ellesmere boat club have.

Dicky thanks I have seen them in B&Q  but it not for me.
I want one with the blow up rubber wheels  why because they run better over the ground and does not harm the boat
anyway Dicky many thanks i think someone will come up with something soon.
I will take a photo of the one I have to give you all something to go on will post it soon just of to have a look at the workers in New Brighton and how far the lake is coming alone to cool to sail at moment.

I have two types of the sack Barrow /Trolleys and have long been toying with the idea of putting a sleeve on the axles to be able to use the plastic /inflatable wheels used on light weight dingy launching trolleys the only thing that puts me off is the room it will take up in the car... I have a Golf Plus that I can just shoehorn 2 x 50" sailing ship models and tool boxes in but not the trolley!!! the larger wheels take up too much room.

Saw those, didn't bother as you said you wanted something that would fold up small.

Is it in a box? I balance my boat box on a 2 wheeled axle that has an arm coming forward to a (fold down) arm with a handle. Lightweight and low volume.
