...Good Evening Guys...

Here are some pictures of our latest additions to the fleet of The Saltire Towing Company of Glasgow...

"WALLACE" , "BRUCE" and "ARGYLE" are 3 icdentical sisters based on a Canadian tug called "ISLAND DEFENDER"...

They will be Single Screw Tugs powered by a Marx 12 volt Hectoperm Motor driving a 95mm Kort prop in a Steerable Kort Nozzle...Working Bow THruster & Towing Winch will also be fitted...

That's a lot of red ink there Norry, has 'Oor Wullie' upset you?

I think Wullie's 'question' could be justified, given the shape of the bow and the 'advertising material' displayed in the first photgraph.

You may have carried out a clever bit of recycling to produce the model.

There are a few tugs in this class...All of varying Lengths & Breadths...
The tug that we are basing our build on is the "ISLAND DEFENDER" which is owned by "The Island Tug & Barge Compnay" of Vancouver Island..
Here is part of the plan that they sent to me...

The Hulls that we are using were moulded by a modeller who came up to the 3rd Scottish Tug-In at Richmond Park in Glasgow last year...
They were originally 32" long but have been Cut & Shut to 26" long...

Here is a wee update on "WALLACE"...  Bilge Keels fitted, Kort Nozzle fitted, Bow Thruster fitted, Decks & Hatches cut, Inside of Hull has been Fibreglassed, Centre Keel template cut...
Its still ugly but its taking shape...

"ARGYLE" has now been taken on by Ian Hodgson, another member of our Tug-Towing Team...

"BRUCE" is still to be started...Come on Captain Ron...Get A Move On...
