Sad, isn't it. Last time I was at Duxford (Imperial War Museum) they had an example of every aircraft I ever worked on! I quite expected to be grabbed, varnished, stuck on a plinth and labeled "Instrument Fitter, circa 1965".

She was a happy ship.
A Naval Armaments Carrier, Royal Corps of Transport St George, then she was transferred to us, the RMAS as RMAS Arrochar.
This is her after being sold and left for 7 yrs in Portland, untouched and unloved, then towed to breakers.

Your first picture didn't sink in (no pun intended) until you showed her as she was at the end of her working life, still with character. As Chromedome said it's sad.
