Hi Everyone,
Just thought I'd post a few pictures of my just finished model on the forum.
[Built from a Model Slipway kit over a period of 3 years (on & off).
Fibreglass hull, ABS deck and superstructure. Most of the fittings supplied were white metal. Where possible I've changed to plastic in order to save weight.
The working crane which will place and retrieve the buoys on the model is operated by a 4 channel keyfob arrangement on 433 Mhz. (didnt want to run the risk of interference smashing up the crane).
Working radar and lights. I've had to use a little bit of modellers licence in order to get the various functions working. The buoys in the photos are not part of the kit but as they flash and are watertight I just had to use them.
Steerage is by 2 x steerable kort nozzles (these needed very accurate setting up as they need to rotate whilst the propellor inside still turns and doesnt fowl anything). A working bow thruster is mixed to the rudder channel on the Tx for tighter turns.
I just need to ballast the model and check out the motor power etc before maiden voyage in the Spring.
Cheers, Terry. (Phew ! Finished it at last).
