Stolen Models
« on: January 29, 2010, 11:06:47 pm »

A member of the Kirklees Model Boat Club was recently the victim of a burglary at his home where the following models were stolen.  It is possibly unlikely that any member here may come across the aircraft models but there is a very real possibility that someone may at some point come across one of the boat models as identified below.

They may turn up on ebay.

If anybody is on the Aircraft forums, it may also be worth posting up a note.

Some pictures if available would be useful as a lot of forum members trawl ebay.

That doesn't sound like an opportunist crime to me. I wouldn't mind betting the person who stole that lot knew exactly what was in that shed and may even be known to the club member, peraps indirectly.
What a shame, some people truly are scum.

I'm inclined to agree with you, Sheerline.

A truly nasty burglary. They should to know they would be difficult to 'move on',  let alone the heartbreak at loosing such models. This is the one crime we all dread.

Yes. Pictures would be an advantage as we like to check the usual outlets and may spot them.

Lets hope they are soon returned to the owner

Remember my losses? The "perps" obviously had a lot of knowledge about what I had and where it all was. If something has been stolen "to order" then it could be many years before it surfaces (or never). Similarly, items that are too distinctive to sell-on may well be just dumped. In my neck of the woods that could well mean the North Sea. Sorry to be a wet blanket, but don't hold your breath. BY.

Unfortunately only one picture exists of the Grumman Hellcat as below.

Realistically it's very unlikely that they will turn up but if anyone is either offered one or even sees a model that fits any of the descriptions please contact either myself or Stan.  I couldn't even begin to imagine how I would feel at loosing things such as this, especially to such scum, so anything that some one can do to help catch them makes things that little bit safer for everyone else.
