Real Ships..and bits of.
« on: January 30, 2010, 04:32:25 pm »

I seem to have spent a lot of this winter hunting out old pics and putting them on CDs. One or two of them may be of interest to you.
20..A very traditional ferry leaving Istanbul (1969 ish)
27..Lyttleton (NZ) in 1957. Ships were prettier then, but not the ugly sod I was in...guess which one.
30..A Leander (Ariadne?) departing after being RAS'd.
26..Just showing the size and shape of a Chaff rocket before being loaded into..
24..Here.
28..Someone will correct me, but either a Sea Dart or Sea Wolf getting ready for transfer.
29..Transfer under way....the ships are about 60ft apart doing 12 knots.

Er, Bryan, I can only see No. 21..

Are these pics that can only be seen by the chosen few?

Nice to see the Gut full of boats though ! Tudor Times is obvious however, the boat with the for'd wheelhouse - could that be the Green Cormorant ?

Sorry. I inadvertently shoved a wrong button and another sort of mayhem occurred. I'll try again later. The missile tx is quite interesting. BY.

Hi Brian,
The missile case is a standard transport case for a sea dart, shipped hundreds of them in my time. The 42 where the main user of them before they removed them of the CVH's.
