Any chance of seeing this elusive email? I didn't get one!
Also confused the time - "06.00 GMT +1" is NOT the same as "06.00 (GMT +1)"
They'll probably start us on land next time  %) %) %)

As it appears that VR are NOT having an official restart, GinaT and I (  %) ) are both going back to the start for the "informal start tomorrow morning" along with a few others.
Anyone is free to join us for a race where we ALL start off at the same time and the same way!
Then I won't spend the next 2 weeks fighting for 8000th place  %) %) %)

I’m not doing too badly so will stay running, However as you are restarting as long as the time date etc are confirmed we can still have the race based on the actual time it takes for you to finish.  (main race 06:00 Gmt or was it 07:00  ? 02-02-2010

See you in Qingdao

Starts on Tuesday the 2nd of February  2010  at 6 am GMT+1 for about 2900 nm, or nearly 20 days of racing.
The finish line will close on March the 1rst at 20pm GMT+1 2010.

Dear "sailors"

The 5th leg, which just ended, has kept all its promises!
The leading group has shown great tactical skills. After lagging behind for some days,  their strategy finally allowed them to reach the top.

The start of the 6th of the 14 stages of the “Clipper Round the world” is coming soon. we take this opportunity to remind you that the options are not just valid for a single leg but for the entire race which will continue until july.

It will start from Singapore, at the 2nd February, 6 am GMT+1.

One course mark: the island of Taiwan, you must leave it to port (see map) when your sailing from South to North.

In other words, you must NOT sail between Mainland China and the island of Taiwan.

The finish line will be at Qingdao (China), where the last Olympic Games races  (Beijing 2008) took place.
Get ready on Tuesday the 2nd of February, at 6 am GMT+1 for the start.
Do not panic, if you can’t start on time, your boat will automatically start, waiting for your instructions, thanks to the pilot boat.

Join the race
See you soon

Team Virtual Regatta
just after the email you had access to turn your boat around and set a course.  Larry

Thanks for that Larry. It may be me, but 6.00 GMT + 1 means 6.00am UK plus 1 hour = 7.00am GMT! Now if they'd put 6.00am (GMT + 1) then I would have thought it meant 6.00am AT GMT + 1 (ie all of the near continent) thus = 5.00am GMT.
A couple of brackets would have worked wonders.
Well done for working it out and not getting stuck behind that ******** pilot boat.
Good luck and get Mayhem in the "official" top 1000.
Cheers
Danny

Larry and Ashley aren't - they're WAY ahead.
It will be interesting to see the race times - less the 27 hours for group 2 of course O0

Good fun though.

Thought someone said its Martin .....  {:-{
Doing well though.
Funny though, sometimes when you log in it says "you have lost xxx places" and other times "you have gained xx places" -
and you've no idea why  %% %%
I suppose if it showed all boats, it would look like a red carpet!
"Gina" is having some SERIOUS conversations on their forum - well it is called "Virtual Regatta PUB" - what do they expect ...  :-)) {-) {-)

They're only about halfway. You're not thinking the marker bouy on Tiawan is the finish ??
You have to leave it on your port side as you pass. The finish is at Qingdao.
Get cracking  {-) {-)
