Paint - Help!
« on: February 08, 2010, 03:50:00 pm »

Hello,

I'm afraid I know nothing about model boats so need your help!  My boyfriend is making a model boat from balsa and ply wood.  I was hoping to get him some paint for it as a surprise but I have no idea what he would need.

Please Help!

Not an easy answer really.

If it's a big boat 30" (75cm) or longer then I would recommend Halford sprays

A smaller boat could be done with Humbrol Paints but stick with either Enamels or Acrylics, don't mix them.

Of course if he has an airbrush Tamiya spray paints are good or Revell airbrush paint

Sorry not to be prescriptive but hope this gives a steer.

I agree with Doug, if he has not got an air brush then Halfords aerosol cans would be best.
