What about Leyton Orient now there is a club with little or no prospects along with Southend (my dads team) do they have a ground at the moment? Always liked Southampton especially one of the best Footballers in the world Matthew Le Tissier what a talent and he never reached his full potential.

Just having my say :-))

And we won AGAIN!!

All Saints could do was field a very wakened side to let Gillingham stay up.

And the moral is.....................................
So glad the M27 keeps us apart.

Couldn't have been very wakened then. But, joking aside, I do feel sorry for Portsmouth. I'm old enough to have seen Jimmy Dickenson and others play at St.James Park ...and recall preferring them to The Arsenal. But, when money rules, sport goes out of the window. Sorry and all that. BY.

We left it too late at the START of the season.
Cant change that or the financial situation, just hope it gets sorted for the start of next season.

Nothing from shipmate60 yet. Come on Bob lets have it.

I see you have altered your signature to "Finalists 2010".  Yeah right, should read "Losers 2010"

By the way Portsmouth are not "Pride of the South" they are "Pride of Portsmouth".

We still beat Southampton, what was it again, oh yes the same as last time 4 - 1

The penalty could have changed the game but wasn't to be.

No news on the future so not much to say. Unlike Southampton Fans that are so boring they have to research a good team like Portsmouth.

You know the old saying Bob

Pride comes before a fall. We are just waiting to see how far, not researching.

At least they got to the final, Richard, more than 18 other clubs did  O0

Chelsea have proved that you can buy success. Abramovich just kept spending, both on players and managers, until he assembled an almost unbeatable team. I may be old fashioned (or simply old) but that sort of approach does nothing for me but, I suppose that's the way the game has "progressed".

Quite right Peter. Just look at how many so called English clubs are no longer English. Chelsea, Man Utd, Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool. They are Russian, American, Saudi Arabian etc etc. They just happen to play the game in England!!!!

Our support should go to the few remaining "English" clubs..

Portsmouth squad, 35 players  11 of which are English.

http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/football/portsmouth/squad.html

Chelsea squad 28 players  8 of which are English

http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/football/chelsea/squad.html

Not a lot of difference really.

There were 90 other clubs competing in the FA cup, however much Rupert Murdoch (spit) doesn't like it to be known

There's even a few Aussies in that number too, Barry  O0

Quite true, BoatyBoy, I was referring to the Premier League Clubs, the division where Portsmouth used to play.

Dont worry about the Premier League DickyD you are now joining the best division in the land.
The football is good and the results arent guaranteed.  My team just lost in the play-offs (Leicester City)
and even though you always want your team to win I didnt really want them to go into the Premier L.
Pompey should well if they can keep some of their better players and with the parachute payoff they
can buy players who will do well.
See you at the Walkers stadium on the few occasions I can get back home to watch a match.
But thank god I've got leicester Tigers to follow as well when the football gets me down.

I do apologise. but the same goes for you. without your points  deduction you should sail into the championship
next season. I definitely got the wrong end of the stick on this occasion.

Pugwash,
We wouldn't have him.
Would rather go into administration and get points deduction that have a Southampton supported come over to us.
