Russ, I posted the request on your Severn build (is that what they call a blog? I really am not au fait with all these new fangled things!) I saw you were getting on with the Severn, and thought you might have gone off the tamar? I asked if you wanted to sell it (tamar) as both me and a pal would be interested.if the price was right of course?

Hi Gerard

I used body filler then painted black, I must admit I don't use that method anymore though, I tend to cut a thin piece of rubber and glue it to the end and finely sand the joints now...

Last nights long winded job was to make the mast array, i decided to make the pivotal supports slightly different as I thought the usual method was to fragile to hold the mast, the main structure and vertical mast are brass tube with the supports being 4mm brass bar...

Do you use a gas torch & Bakers [zinc chloride] liquid flux?.....or is that the jar with the name LB-CB...........

Very hard to read from 22,000 kms away....... :o Derek

OK....6705russell ....in the build by GGeorge of his tug with all of the mass of brass soldered components.....George acknowledged that he used a zinc chloride liquid type flux

It provides a far more uniform fluidity of the solder at each joint.......just a thought.......

The total sharpness of detail in your build is  :-))........Derek

Not much done this weekend apart from made the windscreen up and made a start on the Man lift A-frames, going to turn my attention to fitting more gadgets inside over the next few days, Action sound sytem and a home made smoke machine for the exhausts to start off with...

Does anyone know where i can obtain a radar motor that is no more than 10mm in depth x 15mm in width?  I want to keep it as discreet as possible and there is not a lot of room under the radar base as you can see in the picture....

Thanks

Slow progress this week but managed to finish the stern railings to a point and made up the main rear door hinges, these are bolted through now using 12BA hexagon head bolts, for the railings I used 14BA bolts.
