Many thanks, Dan.  Had a senior moment (happen quite regularly :(() and forgotten that I made some suggestions on your original posting.  Did you manage to confirm whether it was a Bob Underhill boat - one way would be by the superb quality of the moulding. :-))

Hi Dan,
I have tried to submit a scan of Bob Underhill's Argus but it keeps coming back with 'the file is too large' in spite of the fact that I have resized it so, I'm afraid I cannot help you any more. :((

Thanks, Jimmy.  This one isn't mine.  The hull that I have is shown on reply # 15 on the link below -

http://www.modelboatmayhem.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=22638.0

I have yet to start on it but, hopefully, it will be at the lake this summer.

Thanks Derek, it does look very similar. I'll research it a bit more and then decide what I'm going to build it as  :-))

Hiya Dan and Derek,
try here for some nice scale sail images including Argus.

                  http://dabblers.wikispaces.com/Scale+Sail+Page+1

And is the hull you've got Derek by Bob Underwood as I have seen his name used in reference to sail boat hulls.

Thanks for the link, Keith - some nice photos.  Yes, my hull is by Bob Underwood (although I made a mistake and called him Underhill earlier). :((  Collected from him in 2008, got the sails from Sails Etc and must get started and sailing soon.  My hull is the 'Folly'.
For anyone interested in this type of boat and Bob Underwood's in particular I would suggest that they try to get hold of Marine Modelling magazines for February to May, 1999 and June, 2000, as they have a series of articles on 'Classic Sail', covering construction and sailing, etc.

OK Ive decided to build it as the Argus schooner. However i will be building it only from pictures, no plans but ill do my very best to get the scale right. If anyone notices something thats been done wrong please feel free to point it out, i will not take offence.

Unfortunately, due to circamstances i can not order any materials until a week Monday so the build is going to have to wait  >>:-(

Hi Dan the method you use to estimate size from pics will be of interest to some of us on here, as it is something new to many.
If you don't have a method yet, and you put forward a proposed method, those few who have done it could advise further.

Just some thoughts

I have now taken over ownership of this splendid hull and look forward to having a go when I get the time.

I'll wait until you do yours Larry before attempting any thing.   :-))
