Ladies and gentlemen...boys and girls...

Please take a minute to visit my brand new website detailing my build log of the Tamiya 1/350th scale USS Enterprise CVN-65 aircraft carrier.

Have a look round, but bear with me...it's a brand new site of a brand new build, it's all new to me, so please be gentle with me.

Welcome to www.thebig-e.org  Enjoy....

Rich

(With grateful thanks to Martin for allowing me to post the link on Mayhem.)

Well done, Rich. Very enjoyable. I have just read every word on your Site and found it fascinating. In the true spirit of an honourable modeller you have also owned up to your mistakes and how you corrected them.

When you update the Site will you, please alert us?

Thanks again.

Well, thank you Roger, for the kind words...much appreciated.

As the build progresses so will the site, so I'll add the updates on here as and when I do them.

Thanks again..

Amazing Rich, didn't know you had it in you. I take it you are going to finish this one.

Will it float with all that in it ?

Excellent job. :-))

She's been in the internal domestic model testing facility Dicky, she floated nicely above the waterline, but I had to add some filler inside where the shafts come through the hull. That's all done now and all is well, a few more little loose ends to tie up and then she can go out onto open water for a proper shake down run.

Thanks Dicky...

Well done Rich. You have been busy.     :-))

If you have the room, perhaps you could enlarge the print for us 'oldies'    ok2   I didn't miss much, as I sat nearer the screen.

Cheers,

Ken

Hi Rich
She is coming along well. I have done this kit. One word of caution .As big as the hull is there is not much below the waterline so she can not support much weight.  As you can see in mine she sat on the water line with only that weight in her.

All my fingers are firmly crossed John, initial trials showed she has a touch more to go to get down to the waterline.....watch this space.

Well, thank you kind sir (she said...) It's getting there....slowly.

Seawolf is still on the slipway, I managed to melt part of the rear hull whilst soldering the rudder linkage on, so it all had to come out again  >>:-( >:-o so I could repair the hull. All done now though, rudder is done again, just the final fitting out to do really.

www.thebig-e.org has just been updated...click on the 'deck construction' link. There's not much to report, I have an work sustained injury which has slowed things a bit, it's difficult building boats with one operational arm... {:-{
