Plans required
« on: May 11, 2010, 11:22:54 am »

Hi. Was wondering if any one here can point me in the right direction. Looking for plans so can build an ice breaker of the type in the links.

Just that being her in NZ where it is a warmer climate, we do not see these vessels so I do not know where to start.
Any help appreciated.
Cheers,
Adrian.

I don't think this helps (and I'm very rarely helpful  %) ) but Graupner used to make a Icebreaker kit called the Kontio.

Kontio kits are a bit of rare breed these days... Seems like there were two on the Wants and Swaps a month or
two ago... I did a bit of searching, and came up with the following image...

Can't be completely accurate, but it's a start...

Hi there,
Yes I'm the one looking for the Norwegian Icebreaker plans on behalf of my client. He has moved on from trying acquire a Konito as they seem to be totally unavailable now. Even 2nd had it's a tough ask. I guess if any of your Norwegian Coast Guard members are able to shed light I would be most appreciative. Cheers, Graeme

Not yet, but if I, or someone, can come up with a profile for the ship, or it's sister/cousin ships, then
I can probably work out the general placement of those lines....   ok2

Okay, Definitely not accurate, but the best overlay I can produce with the two pieces above.
The hull lines don't quite seem to account for the Ice breaking keels.

This is my best guess...  ;)
I accounted for  (4) frame #10 amidship.
That would be the most outside line on each side of the frame plans.
