Thanks for the invite,I have a slight problem at the moment but if the nice man at the hospital
fixes my Carpal tunnel syndrome in both my hands in time then theres a chance that holding tools and
serviciing my subs might allow me to get back to sun dodging in time

Count me in Donuts, I will be there with my Alpha and so will Mick Higgot with his Typhoon, torpedos loaded and looking for targets.

oops, Sorry Martin!
Eaton Park is on the South  Western side of Norwich
The easiest way to find Eaton Park is to use the southern bypass in either direction
until you get to the A11 Thickthorn roundabout, follow signs to Norwich, cross straight
over the next roundabout and take the next slip road off the A11 (Cringleford)
Right at the T junction(bridge over A11) Left at the next T junction, over the hump back bridge
to traffic lights in Cringleford, turn left at these lights onto Bluebell Road, about half a mile up
Bluebell road turn right into Southpark avenue, about three hundred yards up Southpark ave
there is a traffic island in the road.stop and find a parking place cos you have arrived

The club has its own Premises in the park with two prep rooms and an upstairs
meeting room with free tea and coffee and a micro wave to warm up your own food
there is  a stairlift for the less mobile and full toilet facilities
car parking is a problem late mornings but members will show where to park if you pop in
quickly and ask
The pond is 440 feet by 80 feet with a depth of between 2 to 3 feet
this is an above ground pond and as such is very user friendly,we have two sets of waders
should the unfortunate happen,if any warship guys would like to attend we will deploy or
harbour and boom to give them some safety from sub attack
We are one of the very few clubs that still run I.C boats on the pond, should any nitro guys be interested
The club has 1 old and 1 new website
the  old address is nmbc@fsnet.com
the new address is www.norwichmodelboatclub.com
Not being very IT literate its probably better to try the links on mayhems site, post code for sat nav users will follow shortly when I have found it!!!!
see you all soon
Donuts

hope this helps and I look forward to seeing you all

Geoff,

Are you intending to Park down the side of the pond?, I'm pressuming you're talking to the events team on the council as we have not registered an event for Sunday.

Have you spoken to Dennis?

Gentlemen
I have to tell you that this meeting does NOT have the support of the committee of the Norwich Model Boat Club.  There is another event on our regatta list booked for this Sunday.  The person who arranged this is no longer a committee member.
The only way parking can be permitted next to the pond is to submit a Risk Assessment Form at least a month prior to the event.  It is not possible to obtain this at such short notice.
All future communication regarding club events should be directed to me as Chairman, or Turbulent who is the Vice Chairman.  My e-mail address is paukenschlag@talktalk.net

Bill

There is no "meeting" to cancel, Eaton Park is a Free to use facility & as such any member of the public is free to turn up & sail at any time.

What we are stating is that Norwich Model Boat Club is not organising this sail & that anybody attending should be aware of this because our facilities may not be available to them, we will not be setting courses etc as we do on our organised events & our tables etc will not be set out for modeller's use - we have members sailing that day who will in all likelyhood be using them as we have a free sail event in the morning.

It should also be noted that the I/C modellers will be racing on the pond from 1230 - hardly a sub friendly environment!

So basically, you are more than welcome to come down on Sunday & sail and you will be made more than welcome, but please dont expect an organised event with Pond side Parking & the usual facilities NMBC provide.

Our first Scheduled Submarine event of 2010 is on 16th May.

Gentlemen

The next officially sponsored submarine/warship meeting of the Norwich Model Boat Club will be on Sunday 16th May from 10AM.  Whole pond available.

The annual National Submarine meeting will be on Sunday 8th August all day.  This is a submarine only meeting.  Whole pond available.

The third submarine/warship meeting will be on Sunday 12th September from 10AM.  There is another event on the regatta list on this day, so the pond will be divided after a certain time.

Risk assessment forms for these events have been sent for permission to park at the pond side.

Hi Guys, donuts here.Well I will consider my wrists slapped, its a shame dennis did not mention all of this when when i proposed
the event a fortnight ago, indeed the last info I got was that anyone can organise an event but that the committee
would not offer any help,I did not intend to stand on anyones toes and apologise if I have
In view of the terse replies I will withdraw

thanks for the kind words Bill but in the circumstances and given the attitude of the new chairman, I think it would be best for all
concearned if I did not attend the Norwich Model Boat Club at all
