can you guy's tell me what servo's will i need to run the big schottels i have , as the standard ones have no chance .
Also will i need a seperate power supply to run them as the higher torque will require more amps.

You can get higher torque servos for use as sail arm servos, same size as standard, same throw, more pull, not quite as fast.  Also very good as wiring loom quality testers (found out the hard way), so a good power supply needed.

For Schottel drives and Voith-Shneider drives you will need powerful servos. You should also recognise that schock forces can be transferred back to the servos. Manufacturers of these units and kit manufacturers not only recommend powerful servos but they usually recommend ball raced servos.

Hi tec do some HS-645MG which are have a lot more torque than normal.same size though.might be worth looking at the servo shop website for inspiration.
Dont have to have sererate power source for them, but if you have to add ballast weight why not battery instead of lead.just a thought.
