Cowl vents
« on: March 11, 2010, 09:33:10 pm »

Ive just started to get materials together for my 1st build in 30 yrs its going to be a harbour defence motor launch
from ww2 i want to scratch build all of it as most seems straight forward apart from the cowl vents can anyone give me some hints and tips on how to produce these?
i have tried over past few nights to make some by heating pastic tubes up, and inserting a rod into 1 end and wiggling it around to try and bend it over but they just don't look right

I didn't on these but probably will in the future, the main thing is to experiment with the brass sheet thickness and size, the tube is just modelshop K+S that i use by the wagon load..

Peter

Where did you get your former?
Or did you make the cube and rods yourself?
