Coming back to boating.
« on: March 12, 2010, 06:51:17 pm »

Hello everyone, I have just found this great forum, such a wealth of knowledge!!!
I have been away from model boating for about 20 years, family commitments etc etc <:( <:( <:( <:( Unfortunately I sold all my models years ago but I used to have a 46" Huntsman, a Billings Banckert, and a scratch built USS Salem built from the USS Newport News plans from the Model Boats plan service (I think!!!) and some photos..

I am thinking about building myself a modern ASD type tug. Does anyone know if there are any kits available?

Hi Wesley, welcome back to boating - and welcome to the forum. I'm sure there will be someone here who can answer your question.

Hello Peter and thank you for the welcome, this is the type of boat I am after (if the picture uploads  :-)) :-)) ) I have looked around the internet and the websites listed on the tugboat kits page and the only one that is close to what I  am after is the ASD tug kit by Jan Meerbeek. I have tried emailing him a few times over the last few weeks but had no reply to date. :(( :(( So it looks like it might have to be scratch built unless anyone on here knows different :-)) :-)) :-))
