Nice , how did you make the superstructure? was it a series of boxes or did you do the sides in one go.
I ask as Im building my first non kit boat (Tid) so I will have to give it some thought soon.

Hi chris, the side are made in one go.As the tug is so big at 1:12 scale the superstructure is in two bits. You can see this in one of the pic,s

Hi Everyone,
well the hull as now had the 2 pack primer filler sprayed on,and you can see in the pic,s that i have been flating it down.I used p800 wetordry and 3m's rubber block. Before i start flating i spray a dust coat of black paint onto the hull as a guidecoat.Once the guildcoat is rubbed out the hull sould be flat. The guildcoat shows you the low and high spots.when you flat you must use a rubber block.A bit of wood in no good for doing this.
This takes me back to my day working at Colin Brown Racing in Battersea.Back to the present i will be taking it down to Andy on sunday,so he can start on the making the mould.

Hi John,
i am putting a graupner speed 900BB Torque with mfa gears and drive belt 4.6:1 that will give me around 1100rpm at the prop.I need 950rpm to get to the max hull speed.
I will let you know when i am testing, and maybe you could come over to mote park
sould be around the 2nd weekend in may.

Hi everyone,

I have started fitting out the first hull as I am making each part I am doubling up so that I am ready for the second hull, which is coming next weekend.
Myself and my friend Trevor are working flat out on these two tugs for their maiden voyage at Wicksteed Park at the end of the month.

Hope that you enjoy the pictures and the build.

Hi,
I just got back on after being away for a few months. Being a fan of the TID I am looking forward to your thread. My TID is 3/4 in. to the ft. and ballasted out it takes two to lift it into the pond. Have you calculated what the final weight will be.

Hi G.George,
with this tug we will put it in the water first then put in the battery (12volt 40 ah)in. this will go a good way towards the total ballaster. The rest will be made up of wooden bricks filled with lead, and put in after the battery.we know the final weight will be a lot.More than a two man lift.So this is why we have gone down this road.Of two pick up number 2 hull in the morning.

kind regards

Hi, It looks like the old "Lesro" Tid tug of yore. Funnily enough I have just resurrected my old one what I made late eighties/ early nineties. It runs, direct, on two 4hr ni-cads and it is too fast. Good performer with a Kort.

Hi everyone,
just got back from the lake. The tid had its first run. :-)) :-)) :-)) :-))
All i can say is it takes a lot of ballast.2x 12v 40ah ,2x12v 12ah ,5x12v 7ah+some lead :o :o :o
She sails really well. The handling and turning is great. Here are a few pictures and a bit later I am going to upload a video onto you tube for you all to have a look at.

kind regards
Alan
