Yes Black Park last Sunday.

Here are a few more photos taken by my wife who has more of an "ART HOUSE" view of photography ok2

The paddle pattern caused by the feathering looks great in flat water.

Super model, well done.

Are the feathering paddles scratch built, bought, from the Glasgow kit or what?

They are a special order of brass laser cut parts from Waverly models.  They are bigger and full rimmed.

I then assembled them using model railway brass locomotive bushes to give very smooth running.

Very nice and it looks like it sits nice in the water I really like the deck and rails very nice BUT I hate to say as I don't normally like figures on models but some people dotted about would be the finishing touch, looking at some of Bryan Young's boats convinced me about figures.

I agree

I have 200 waiting to be painted.  this is a winters evening task :-)

There are already 25 in the saloons which are fully fitted out with seating and lights.

The problemhas been finding ladies in Edwardian dress in 1/48.  I finally got whitemetal Americal O gauge figures which I have recast in resin for weight saving.

I also picked up on Saturday a captain who looks like King George V.

Very nice model, love the detail on the paddleboxes, how did you make the crests, is it layers of thin plasticard built up toget the "relief" effect?

Its all wood and I used 0.4mm ply for the paddle boxes.

I cut the model with a laser but a steady hand is just as good.

I then used a drill with a diamond grit sanding ball to take off the edges and then rubbed in Squadron putty to give a smooth curved surface.

After a light sanding I painted with a gloss white enamel paint to give it a good surface.

Thanks for explaining your methods, I have to make two similar crests soon. The putty sounds like a good idea....never thought of that!
