HMS Erebus, HMS Terror Monitor's
« on: March 19, 2010, 04:14:11 am »

Hi,
Does anyone have hull lines/ other resources for this class of ship, I'm thinking about a stand (way) off scale for combat.

JANES Fighting Ships of WW1 has  line drawings and a photo which would do for the type of model you are building (The hull is basically slab sided and a flat bottom ) Torpedo bulges I think were added later,---  Douglas Reedman wrote a novel about one called I believe HMS Sultan and the picture on the cover was very good as a reference..

Douglas REEMAN if anybody needs to search for the author. The paperbacks always had great naval pictures on them.

Do you read the Reeman Books or the Alexander Kent ones (Cover pictures are very good on both)

Look up "Profile Morski". Inexpensive and very good.

Ummm... just as well I checked. They do Roberts and Abercrombie, not Terror and Erebus.

I knew there was something else nagging away at the back of my brain: Model Boats do a plan for the very similar Marshal Soult. I seem to remember, too, that was a build article in that magazine.

National Maritime Museum in Greenwich (London) , England has Erebus class hull lines design plan. Last reference I have for the drawing number is 290910.
