Many photos are hosted off this Forum, on other servers, if those servers are off-line, unavailable or gone-the-way-of-the-Dodo... little red crosses!

To upload direct to Mayhem, see:   http://www.modelboatmayhem.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,23.msg36.html#msg36

Correct with the power plant, it is a pulse-jet from a "Doodlebug" . It was a WWII Nazi last ditch attempt at a weapon intended to attack shipping, a sort of manned torpedo. Didn't go into production, only one prototype named "Tornado". The twin hulls were floats from Junkers seaplane. It would have been very noisy and pretty hopeless in a rough sea. The red one was a competitor in the aquatic equivalent to the Italian road races like the Mille Miglia and Targa Floria. The picture shows it after a recent complete restoration, it must be noisy and drafty to ride in too.  Lots of vintage film of the Pavia to Venice race on Youtube.  It might be my next project as I have a pair of floats doing nothing . I think a fantasy "what if" combination of the two designs , no pulse-jet  :o, prop driven with modern looking style aero engine pod. Winter project, I do like the unorthodox :embarrassed:
