Another Long time photobucket user here, never had any issues with them.

I do however keep copies of any "irreplaceable" pictures locally.... just in case

So, is Photo Bucket like Picasa and Flickr? as I have both of them, prefer Flickr as I seem to be able to use it.

I've had  accounts on both for a while now and yes, they are much the same in their function but I too prefer Flickr, not sure why, it just seems more pleasant to use.....  :-)

How do you add photos from Flickr on to here?

It's easy really but not obvious:-

Click one of your photos to bring it up and then go to the "Share" button just above it.
Scroll to the "Grab the HTML/BBCode" which is the bottom option
Select Size of picture you want under the code box and also select BBCode in the button
Copy all the code in that box and paste it directly into where you are typing your message and you get.....

Hooray that worked !  :-)

Phew, it works.
If your wondering how I took this photo, it was taken from a remotely controlled camera suspended from a kite.
Check out the links to see more.

Like others that have voiced their lacking in computer knowledge / confidence esp re uploading photos, decided to take the hint and have a look at Photobucket. Never realised there was so many of  'how to do it' tutorials on Youtube, here's the first link I looked at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9xRXezQkV4w but there are many others - does seem straightforward if taken step by step - it's just remembering the steps during the learning curve  %%

Just tell your fire wall to allow it, normally an option

I,m Not really sure why people want to use a 3rd part system just post using the forums inbuilt one..

We can't do anything about your firewall Larry but at least we now know the issue is at your end.
However, you can still download and use Resizer and uplaod direct to the Forum as 'LongBuild' says.

Full step by step instructions here:

http://www.modelboatmayhem.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=23.msg402626;topicseen#msg402626

and

http://www.modelboatmayhem.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=23.msg403457;topicseen#msg403457

Before you go, try it Larry, honestly, it's not that tricky...

NB: What do the other forum you belong to use?

Here's an easy option worth trying, that's the same but different.

It still uses postimage.org, but you are using that website directly, and not linking to it through Mayhem. The best bit is that there is still no need to register, or login to use it.

1) Go to www.postimage.org website homepage directly.

2a) Select 'Browse' for suitable image(s) up to 5Mb. (jpg, png, gif, bmp, psd, tiff)
2b) Use the 'Resize facility' if necessary, select 'Family Safe', and 'Upload It'

3) 'Uploaded Completed' page appears. Scroll down and select 'copied to clipboard' button next to Hotlink for Forums (1) - When 'Copied!' appears, paste into Mayhem reply for fullsize image.

Easy-Peazy Lemon Squeezy - if it works...
