Hi David - As has been said above I use photobucket.  If you use this you will not have to worry about resizing or anything its so simple.

I think the forum though may have some issues with photobucket i.e. if you delete your account the forum may loose the pictures too?

Maybe Martin could let us know if that is the case?

The maximum allowable size of photos is 300K, although this takes time to download.  We've found the best size is around 100-150k.  This fills the screen without needing to use the sideways arrows below them.

The Photobucket way is easy on the size problem, as mentioned above, but the photos will disappear from Mayhem if the account is altered or closed.

Also, you do not see your photos in the preview.  We advise you  "post"  and then look at the result.  You then have up to 20 minutes to alter anything you want.

This is also a good time to run the spell checker if you're not sure of any words, as it saves us correcting it later.  Some of the spelling is accidentally wrong and sometimes puts the whole thread on a different meaning.

Hope all this helps and leads to a smoother running forum for 2015.

Cheers and happy Boating.

If you delete your photo bucket account, yes all pictures vanish and you get an image saying "Image not available" or similar . If you delete your forum account it depends on what level you close it down, if you leave and throw your teddy out of the pram as some have done and insist your posts are deleted then it starts to make threads look a bit odd, most cases accounts are closed but pictures remain.

I signed up with postimage.org recently. It allows for resizing, so no other software needed.
Another thing I like is that, unlike some other photo sites, it isn't trying to be the next Facebook. - Tom

We have a long a chequered history with Postimage.org here on Mayhem, even embedded the software to the \forum.... but many times it was unavailable, several times it's just disappeared and taken the photos with it, sometimes posted "inappropriate" advertizing along with the hosted photos and links to VERY suspicious sites with popups!

That said, lets give them another go. Today's

Imgur is another way to post your huge photos on Mayhem!    http://imgur.com/

IT seems quick and easy enough!

1. click - upload images ( very top of page )

2.
click -Browse my computer

3. locate your photo / photos on your computer / phone / tablet / Ipad etc.

4. click Upload

5.once uploaded, on right hand side, click Share this image,  then scroll down until you see   -   Use BBCode (Forums)

6. click the COPY symbol   to the left of the coding.

7. come back here to your open post,  right click, Paste
