Really does look A lovely model Dicky, can't believe the speed of construction and with scratch built parts to boot, let alone the time for all the contribution you make to this forum -  Well impressed. :-)) :-)) :-))

Maiden voyage day today, so off to Setley Pond.

Typical spring day, cold, windy and raining.

She sailed well considering the conditions.

Hello , First time here and thank goodness for the marvel of the internet !

Started this model today from Deans Marine and glad I found the thread before starting it , without the clear pictures and hints I would have gone ahead with the plans ... having now looked at the 1mm deckplan of the boat I see that the hull is out of shape and will need to be brought in to match by almost 1/2 an inch to match.

By the way its not going to be HMS Amethyst but a similar black swan class sloop of the same era HMS Mermaid which my late father served with during his time aboard her.

It will be a static display hopefully by the time I finished I may have gotten some tips on doing a seascape for her to sit in.
