laptop webcam

Hi to everyone on the forum, I have a problem and hope someone can help,
My laptop has a built in webcam and the other day I thought that I would upload a video
onto youtube with myself playing the guitar,
Anyway I pressed the upload button and it came up with cant find any cameras,
i've tried everything to get the camera working but nothing seems to happen can anyone help me please.

Geoff,
Have you tried going into "Device Manager" and see if it is showing as operational there.

Q1: Has the camera ever worked before?

Possible fix: You might need drivers/new drivers for it.

I'm presuming you're using a PC, not a Mac. If so - right-click My Computer or Computer and then left-click Manage from the list of options. On the Computer Management window that pops up, click Device Managers. Your camera should be listed. Is it?

Identify the web cam and reinstall the software..

On HP laptop, the inbuilt webcam appears under the list of drives
ie. C:\Locas drive
    D:\DVD
    E:\Webcam

Thanks to everyone who answered my question, I am going to have to reinstall the hardware to get the webcam to work again.
