Blower Pusher Springer
« on: March 29, 2010, 04:03:12 pm »

Hi All
Had an idea for my 32in  rescue Springer tug. Big or med size boats i can push in. The smaller ones i can now blow in useing a small b/l outrunner with a airprop on a pylon mounted on the fore deck  :-) Its a bit of a lash up at the moment   {:-{ But tryed it & it works VERY well  :-))Have to hold her still on the main motors (X2 555s) Lots of thrust from that little brushless  :-) Running it off the ballast battery s.l.a 12v 3.2 amp.
Most people said it was a mad idea {:-{But it does work :-))

After seeing the boat in action, the brushless motor on the front, actually makes the boat go faster backwards, than the main motors going forwards

Brilliant, it would be good in Holyhead to catch the sailboats before the few trees caught them.  :-))

I'm making a larger boat atm, but a variation of your idea and the pointer would be interesting, pity money is a bit tight but watch this space. :-)

That would be a Bonzi BZ3 engine? Sounds to me like a twisted carb insulator block, seen quite a few cases of this. BillD203 has now switched over to ally insulator blocks which helps a lot. That causes petrols to stop quite often. Either that or something's not right with the carb settings.
