Hi!
I once saw and showed somewhere on this forum, pictures of a model suction dredger. Think it was built by someone in Germany. Don´t know where to find it now, but it is possible to build one.
Happy easter!

It would be simple enough to box the hull, and  then
shape the bow and stern as required.

Chris what about converting a Model Slipway Coaster to a dredger looks ok as a kit the four hatcher has a loader on deck i think its  well worth a look as the hull and fittings are all their just need to make a side pipe or crane and some bottom doors to make up  well worth a look. I do not no much about model Slipway models but they look ok would be a nice dredger size 1/50 close to 1/48 scale and about a metre long good transport size price seems ok as well lots of build data on the web as wel.l
Like I say do not no much about them and would be a nice model to build some thing different tassie48

i bought the shamrock from them, i thought it was goin to be a nice little model to start with. but it was rubbish cut out the plastacard deck an found the hull was disformed. they said i had messed with it.

i did email them about the coaster hull £55 with postage an £10 insurance. also models by design have a nice little boat the CHANT

48th, 37inch, 6.75 inch
32nd 55.5 inch, 10.1/8 inch

37" £65.00 plus p&p / 55.5" £77.00 plus p&p

Ok its been a looong time this, but iam back :-)). Been out off work have a new job  :D, an sold my old boats :-)) :-)).

So with that out off the way iam back to try an make a start on a dredger :-). Only problem is i have forgotton where i was <:(.

So i live in south wales, an there is about 4, maybe 5 dredgers. but a new one has now turned up %%. UKD ORCA, below

now iam after a hull which looks like this, but iam not finding a lot that look like it, must be looking in the wrong places. i wanted something the sucked mud/sand an the hulls i find which will work are from deans marine the fairwind or anna marie.

So my question is does anybody have an ideas to where i can find something that looks like orca,

if not then my path will change, with the bridge at the rear an suction pipes an hoppers forword off this.

i no she has 2 z drives an bow thruster, what goes on under the water does not really matter just the deck needs to look good i always say.

thanks for the help in case i forget chris

Just a Question... if you build a dredger of some sort... once you had the fun and sucked up all the rubbish off the pond floor what are you going to do with the stuff you sucked up? i mean that most people that will walk buy seeing you dumping the dirt back in the lake might get the wrong idea and then you'll have to explain it to the cops  :police:  {-)

although its a great idea......

We have asked the builders for drawings but they have not replied. It is a case of hull only. The ship is current and it is the Sand Heron based in the UK, and it can be googled. It's a case of studying the pictures or visiting the ship, contacting the owners etc. The hull is available now, price £50.
