Brushless Motor Airboat

While looking for something a bit different to build, I came across a web site called Cajun Gator Airboats which offered free plans to download, just made from 1/8th ply and I could make one with a 4ft x 4ft sheet, I decided to have a crack at building one.

I purchased a brushless motor from Giant Cod (Emax 2815/9), couple of packs of 11.1v 5000 mah Lipos, 10 x 6 prop and a speed controller.

My prototype was completely mental .... I could use more than 1/3rd throttle and it was ballistic .... Great Fun

I used it on local fields, in the snow and ice and even the local car park .... it was just so, so fast ... but most of the time completely out of control.

Time to build Mk II, this time using a smaller prop and adding a little weight and slightly larger rudders.

More pictures to follow later
