« on: April 12, 2010, 08:45:30 pm »

OK I am thinking of buying the Action Motor Mixer P40c auotset. My question is there any real benfit of having it install into my boat?
And for my RC controll unit I will be using a 2.4 Futaba unit will there be any problems or is any thing else I may need to install with unit?.
Please let me know thank you for any input into this unit again thank you..

To be honest before I fitted a mixer I always wondered why anyone would bother with them.
Then I fitted 1 and on my 3 shaft model I just wouldn't be without it.
Even on 2 shafts I can operate the throttle on my left hand stick with a ratchet and turn without touching the throttles.
So yes, in my opinion there is a benefit.
Plus it leaves another channel for functions if required.

All of ACTion gear is tested and I know Dave has a Futaba 2.4 set just for testing purposes. Have you already got the ESC, if not I would look at the P94 twin ESC plus mixer. Nice bit of kit

No. The third output is for the centre motor in a three-screw installation.

That's OK, but please do read the full P40C manual before you plan any further.

You may  need a separate battery for each motor but you will certainly need a separate supply for the receiver. If your ESCs have BEC then this must be disabled in BOTH units, and there are certain makes of ESC which have proven not to like working properly with any type of mixer. PM me for details to see if those you have planned to use are on the list!
If you don't already have two suitable ESCs then P94 is a better buy (apart from being a more versatile and compact unit), being cheaper than two x 20A ESCs and a mixer when bought together. You can knock approx 15% off the published UK prices for US exports too, so a P94 will cost around $110US built, tested and shipped.
