Great effort.

My five year old is slowly getting the boating bug.

Next on our slipway is a boat for Barbie & Ken.

Its good to capture there interest, my son and I started off years ago, we both scratch build , but now he,s a lot better? modeler than me, when he was 20 he won a silver medal at the ME EXIBITION in LONDON, but also won the Excide trophy for his research,

That was the last kit I ever built, went to a show and there were 7 Bugsia 3,s  6 of them did not sail right, every one kept asking why does yours sail as good as that, because I had built it like it said in the instructions was my answer, some had put in bigger motors or batteries, as fromthere I have always scratch built. so keep saving your money, and doing your paper round and you could soon be building some thing like IRON DUKE, best of luck with your modelling.ron h

Here's one my son built from a PBM Kit, He's 14 and it was his first attempt at r/c after building numerious Airfix, Revell and Tamiya kits. He needed very little help, only in sanding the hull which he decided to sub-contract to me!

I agree, it's nice to see youngster's building models like the ones seen on this topic. Every encouragement should be given to any young person who want's to become part of the model boat fraternity.

I'm just about to start my first build at the age of 48. If the results
are half as good as the examples I've just looked at then I'll be
delighted.
