Hi Guy`s.
The glasgow Richmond Model Boat Club start of season sail takes place on Sunday 2nd May 2010.
Start time 12 noon-4pm.
Come and see the great range of models on display, both on and off the water .
Bring your models along and take the opportunity to navigate our extensive harbour complex.
Hot and cold drinks and snacks will be available in the clubhouse throughout the day and convenient parking next to the pond and toilet facilities are available.
We will have the ever popular Wee Nip races,so remember to bring your Nip along and we will try to break the Scottish record yet again.
Hands on boats will be available for the youngsters and we will be having the usual raffles with some great prizes to be won.
There will also be a best in show prize, this time the model in question being voted by members of the general public.
So please come along and take part in what is usually a very enjoyable family day out  :}

Should be a great day. The harbour complex is the best I've ever seen and it is great to get the opportunity to test your sailing and berthing skills.
This was a great event last year with something for everybody and I will certainly be attending on Sunday.

*** Road closure & Diversions***

If you plan travelling to Richmond this Sunday, for our start of season sail, be aware, Glasgow Rd, the one that comes down from Rutherglen, will be closed.
Just follow the diversion signs.

If you are coming from the Caledonia Rd. end, there is a new roundabout which you turn right at (A730),
the new road stops at Shawfield stadium, you go straight ahead through the traffic lights.
Turn left into the park as before.

...Hi Guys...

Captain Ron, You could bring along the candles off your Birthday Cake and we could put them on the front of the Wee Nips (Lit of Course)
That would make a better weapon than a Cocktail Stick...

Just back from the show and what a fantastic day.
The weather was kind to us for once with the rain holding off until the end of the show.
BIG Thank You to all the guy`s who helped setting up the show, without you all it would not have been the success it undoubtedly was.
We once again broke the Scottish Wee Nip record with 16 Nips attending the show and 15 taking part in the actual race.
The Nips are becoming very popular in our neck of the woods and there are plenty more on the building blocks.I can see Wee Nip races becoming a major event in the not too distant future.

The tug towing was very popular with the general public ,and a fair crowd gathered to watch the operators navigate the large tow through the harbour system.
A very succesful show with a great turn out of models ,both on and off the water and great fun was had by all.
I`ll post some pics soon :-))

What a fantastic show we had today. What a great crowd. What good weather.

It was great to see so many members there in the morning to help set up.

A big THANK YOU to all those who helped, you know who you are.

The public 'Vote for a boat' was a great success.

The raffle was fantastic (just about everyone left with something).A big thank you to John from Uddingston Models for his generous support.

The refreshments were top notch and so were the kitchen staff.Well done.

The hands on boats were busy as usual.

To all the members of GRMBC........A BIG THANK YOU

Ron

I wanted to make this one, but my mother fell and broke her wrist. I still intend to be at the Warship Weekend. O0
