Got my P60 and 2010 Service Pension Forecast from HM Paymaster General yesterday
"There will be no Pension Increase in 2010"
Any chance of the same edict on fuel prices?

Got mine the other day too, but thanks to the small increase in Old Age Pension, tax code changed, and Service pension has therefore reduced, after tax! >>:-( <*< >>:-(
Talk about give with one hand and take back with the other!!!

As inflation index was  at minus 1.6% in September (the month from which the index is used to calculate our service pension increase) just be grateful they didn't decide to reduce it.  >:-o >:-o >:-o >:-o

Thanks guys - haven't had my letter yet, so you've ruined the excitement and anticipation for me!!! Mustn't complain though -  I got my first months OAP in March and after four years retirement they have finally managed to get my tax right. Just waiting for the rebate now - but not holding my breath!

Let's all be thankful that when the Act covering pension increases was passed, someone (nameless but thank you) dropped a right old clanger.
My pension provider, while notifying me that I would not get an increase this year due to the negative inflation figure, pointed out that, but for the Act they would have reduced said pension. The Act prohibts such deeds! They sounded almost sorry that they couldn't take it away from me (and lots of other pensioners).

To the civil servants who drafted the Act, bless your little cotton socks. It's nice to know that they do make mistakes in our favour.
Question now is will they still get their golden handshake when they get the boot? Costing Gordon a fortune, tut tut. {-)

My Local Government Pension is also based on the Retail Price Index for the previous September but again, they didn't contemplate it going backwards so just no increase. But to be fair, in April 2009 the adjustment was based on the September 2008 RPI which was at 5% so that was what we got when a lot of people in work were getting around 2% so mustn't grumble.

Nobody dropped a clanger. It was strongly debated when the Bill was considered and the Clause was put in to protect workers.

I remember the "old sweats" talking about how your pension is reduced once you get the OAP, so I was a bit concerned. Within days of becoming 65 I had a letter telling me Pension reduced from birthday under National Insurance Modification Rules - new annual rate **** - fortunately only about £60 a year less.

One set of crooks will take over the existing establishment from the previous set of crooks.

Nothing ever changes

tons of false promises and more stealth taxes.

Once upon a time the government was meant to service Joe Public . . .

But now they are a bunch of parasites that will bleed the host dry {:-{
