Model Boats Magazine Commemorative Special
« on: May 05, 2010, 11:42:38 am »

I've just recieved my copy of the Model Boat Magazine Commemorative Special and I have to say what a superb publication it is.  I'm looking forward to a good in depth read but it is obviously well packed with interesting and informative articles which remind us all of what we have been through in model boating over the last sixty years.

Warmest congratulations to our very own Colin Bishop for putting this edition together, which I sincerely hope does very well and justifies the incredible amount of work he has put into it.  A highly recommended buy.

Blimey! What did you do to get one of those? We paid £Squintilions for a half-page ad in there and there's no sign of a copy for us......

And a very fine advert it is too!    Boy, did the article on the "Bardic Ferry" take me back - I'm in for some enjoyable reading this evening.

I worked for Atlantic Steam Navigation in 68, 69 out of Felexstow on the Bardic and the Celtic Ferrys. Did you sail on them???

No I didn't sail with them but I remember the article first time round, it was about the time that I first thought of the Merchant Navy as a career and I devoured all the information I could find on merchant ships. I eventually sailed with Caltex for ten years.
