Hallo to everyone!
Almost finished with the battered panels at the bow and the front of the conning tower and started the scopes , snorkel and radar. Did some dry fitting to see what they look like. They are made of aluminium tube, brass rod and plasticard! I used also a bit of balsa to form the shape of the snorkel body before it was covered with a thin styrene sheet.

Hallo everyone!

Finally I finished with the scribing and stuff and she was given the final coat of a two pack filler! Next I'm going to sand her with a fine wet & dry to get a smooth finish and all it's left is to add one more detail on the bow.

I did all the fine sanding on the conning tower and I started preparing it for molding. It was given one coat of sealer & glaze to block all the pores and tomorow I'll start on the dreaded waxing.

Good evening!

Finished with the mold! It needs a good cleaning now and the I'm going to start waxing again to produce the first part. It didn't come out as good as expected but it'll do for now! I'm going to remold the part at a later stage.

Taking advantage of the time between wax coats I made the final detail on the deck just behind the sonar dome. I used a piece of mesh cut to shape and it was glued in place with a small amount of cyano. Then it was covered with self adhesive aluminium tape and was pressed with an eraser to take the weave of the mesh. I'm quite pleased with the resault! Sorry about the black & white photos but something went wrong with the camera!
