Just a small update! Sorry but I'm not having a lot of time lately due to work obligations and the project goes really slowly! I cut the hull as shown in the photos and that's because I'm going to mold the deck and subsail in RTV while the main hull is going to be molded in GRP. Molding it like this also gives me the option to produce all three types of Type 209 by changing the deck! That is 209/1100, 209/1200 and 209/1200AIP(ofcaurse convertion kits are going to be made). Also I spent some time making the WTC's and added some more details to the hull and deck!

if I it understand properly you build the boat with wtc.
Have you already thought about the compressed air diving system ?
Like we in Germany do it.

I'm going to use an aspirated ballast tank! A valve to fill the tank and an air pump to blow it back to the surface! That will be my first attempt of making something like this! I usually use a water pump with a bludder!

Hallo everyone!

I'm back at full throtle this time and here is what I've been up to! Cut the hull in the middle and corrected and added some more details! Waxing has started and by the end of this week I'm going to start molding! More to come!!!

Nice bit of GRP work there. Do you use PVA as well as wax for the release?

Thank you very much Subculture! I use PVA only on the "difficult" spots although it's not the right way but it works for me! :-))

Okay that's nice to know. I find everyone I speak to about laminating has a slightly different method.

How many coats of wax do you put on? I use Simoniz carnauba wax, just been prepping some moulds as the weather has been perking up a bit lately. I have given them eight coats, buffing in between each coat, they're lovely and shiny now. I was debating whether to apply PVA or not- they're fairly simple moulds with no undercuts.
