May I make a comment about the props being un supported near the end I think you will need an extra bracket just behind the prop or it will shake itself to death at the recs of a brushless motor .

Very nice Russ, you must have the heating on in the workshop now if you're spraying?  %) Use the fire station bay if you want, one of the perks of the job, nice big heated bay with good lighting! I just make a donation to the Benevolent Fund each year and make sure not to get paint on the big red truck! See you soon, Dave.  :-))

I agree with HS93,those props will need support at the prop.
Best to fix now to aviod disappointment.

Point taken on board reference the prop supports but i have not had a problem with the 1/12 Tamar and that runs on 800kv brushless with the same prop set up?  I will keep on eye on them when water testing next year, shouldnt see a problem with them.

It's a shame the p frames were short ,however, your exposed shafts should certainly create less drag than full length prop tubes. Nothing is perfect but your arrangement is much closer to the Vosper original than most.  :-)

Thanks Perkasaman, i think "drag" issues went out the window anyway when i fitted the motors!   ok2

Great pix Intel..
You're right Russ, but every little helps......... the +30% over brushed equivalents is definately .........no drag.
What size/make props have you chosen? They look like quality items.

The outer props are Sitek,s, if you look closely the middle prop is a different make/design, i have had the two outer ones for a while, i will need to source a third eventually to match them up....

Nice items, they look 40mm+ in size. I cannot recall the diameter of the original Vosper (turbine power) props being listed in any of the usual reference sources I checked recently, although I was researching 'Perkasa' rather than the 'Braves' specs on the usual web sites. This size has remained a mystery. :-)

After been struck down with the "man-flu" i have made a little more progress on the Brave, finished spraying the hull and superstructure, deck sprayed, made the base for the flying bridge, long-range fuel tanks fitted and now starting to fix various deck fittings including the two torpedo racks...

No, all separate, in two of the lifeboats I am running the Rc Model Workshops, in the Trent is  one of Actions P100 and I have another P100 with gas turbine sound for the Brave.

Today,s mission was to fit the internals and make the rear exhaust shelf, unfortunatley it looks a little bigger than it should do so i will be making a new one, speed controllers fitted along with a P100, amplifier and speaker in a sound box. I also made the second mast array and fitted the nav lights....

She's looking very impressive Russ. Now you've mastered the mast making are you going tackle the Tamar Lifeboats? See you soon, Dave.  :-))

Noticed you'd got into the Brave, I'll have to do some more soon when have finished the bathroom. Wish the lake would hurry up and thaw out, quite a few of us got new boats to test. We'll have to go over to Chasewater, seen the post about their lake being clear, wonder if they'd mind a few gatecrashers? Dave.  O0 O0
