PS Lincoln Castle
« on: May 18, 2010, 08:11:55 am »

The PS Lincoln Castle looks to be heading for the scrappers yard
The Lincoln Castle Trust are willing to pay the £20,000 asking price for the
ferry which has been used as a bar/restaurant in Grimsby adjacent to the
Fishing Heritage Centre and the Ross Tiger sidewinder trawler
but the magnificent NE Lincs council want a £60,000 bond before anything
can be done with the vessel.
So much for our heritage

Yours Aye

According to the latest issue of Ships Monthly, Lincoln Castle has been offered free to the Paddle Steamer Preservation Society.

Thats right but the council who are wringing their hands in anguish that it might go to scrap
still want the £60,000 bond!
She cannot be moved without removing the paddles and boxes and masts and superstructure
as she has to transit a narrow bascule bridge and the under the A180 road bridge
