Just a note to introduce myself - I'm Tony Tritschler from Bungendore NSW which is a small village about 25Km outside of Canberra. I'm relatively new to ship modelling although I have fond memories of building and "sailing" a couple of hydroplanes powered by a 1.5cc Frog diesel over 50 years ago, ( I still have that little engine). That was when I was living on the NE coast, West Hartlepool. For the last 40 odd years we've lived in Australia, at present on a 45 acre "hobby farm".
I'm currently building a model drifter from scratch. At this stage the hull is completed and fibreglassed and I'm about to sort out placement of battery, servos motor etc. Progress at times is slow, like most retirees, life seems busier than it was when I was working.
I've already found the forum useful looking up the building of scale trawlers etc

Thank you for the welcome

Welcome Tony,

I know what you mean about life seeming busier when you retire. The wife sees to that!  O0

Cheers,

Welcome to the Mayhem, I'm sure you will enjoy the experience and the blokes on here are tremendously helpful. I believe you have a very active model following down there in your neck of the woods.

Hi Tony, welcome to the growing band of Aussie modellers on Mayhem from another Aussie. I'm a bit further north than you, where the weather is warmer in winter than Bungendore  O0

How about some photos of your drifter, we would love to see them.

Peter.

G'Day Tony,

Another Aussie.

With your location you should try and contact ACT Model Boat Club - a great bunch of guys and close to you.

Anyhow, Welcome to the forum
