Dickie Tugboat in Florida, USA

I just ordered a Dickie Tugboat with the intention to fully remodeling it and/or update it. I love this forum and the info you guys post, it's absolutely great !  Unfortunately all of you are on the other side of the Atlantic.  Is there info on clubs, forums, meets, etc in the USA? I would love to joint or even start a local modelers club, so far I've been unable to find any here. I wonder why?

There is a boat club in st.petersburg florida bay area electric boaters. Com check it out
