Hi Colin
these 3 company's do very small 6mm motors which will fit in to the pod. just use some brass tube to increase the shaft length.
Here is a photo of a QM2 with normal drive. Last 2 pods work as rudders.

Thanks John, some interesting items there. However putting the motors into the pods means sealing them in and I can't see how you could prevent some water finding its way in eventually and causing corrosion etc. Those little right angle drives I had would have been ideal as it wouldn't have mattered if they got wet but they weren't man enough for the job. The setup in your photos works well as it is quite difficult to see the actual props. I have a couple of little brass ones that would suit and Mark of MMB does a nice line in 2mm shafts and tubes to any length you want.
