Without having access to my own books all I can say is that the boat configuration was quite different in '82 to how she was later. The large tenders with the seats on top for instance were a much later addition.
Interestingly enough I'm pretty sure it was '82 when she had the grey hull briefly after returning from the Falklands and underwent a significant refit. The QE2 is quite a challenge to build as she changed in so many ways over the years with such additions as the penthouse suites, the magradome, funnel, tenders etc.. You really have to decide a specific date and then try to find as much as you can of her at that time. On the plus side there are dozens of excellent books on her so there is no shortage of reference material a lot of them being on sale in the bookshops of any of the current Cunard ships or via more specialist bookshops such as those advertise in Sea Breezes or Ships Monthly. Either of those magazines would be a good place to identify suitable bookshops.
