SHG Models uncontactable
« on: June 12, 2010, 06:32:18 am »

Help needed.
Does anyone know if SHG Models have got their email system up and working.
As of 1st June they advised they were experiencing major problems with spam.
My emails to them are now being bounced back as, unknown user "bounce".  <:(
Am not in position to contact them via telephone.
Thank you.

SHG sometimes have email problems, usually a phone call sorts it out....

What's the reason for not being able to call them?

Without getting into personal specifics such as aged and so forth, am unable to ring International from my location. <:(
Hence my reliance on email.

Pity you didn't mention this before May RaaArtyGunner, they had a stand at Harrogate and I could have asked. Wonder if they're showing at any of the other British shows?? Perhaps someone else could ask. Does tend to make a mockery of T'internet services and in todays recessionary times strange that any potential trade is ignored especialy since the internet is responsible for many local shops demise.

This subject has already been discussed at length on two other threads. A bit of searching will probably find them.

Jerome and Sue Grainger stand most of the UK model boat shows in the year - more than anyone else (expect perhaps Model Power). They will be at the Northern Model Show at Doncaster next weekend. I will pass on a message if you wish.

Problem I have found recently is that despite electrons travelling at the speed of infinity, some of a mates (yes I have at least 1) E-mails don't get through when sent by the normal channels, but if we're "Skypeing" he can send it and it's there more or less instantly. Haven't got any silly blockers set so the bounce back could be something electronic at either end.

Why don't they just remove there email address from there site as Colin Bishop says it has been discused before about them not answering mail ,I have had problems so has a friend who wanted info and emailed them. then they would not be getting negative posts on forums to a company that does otherwise give a good service.

FLJ,
Yes thank you, and appreciate the effort and not to mention your informative posts throughout the site.

They may not be aware of their current problem, copy below.

This is the mail system at host mail.de003160.idaq.com.

I'm sorry to have to inform you that your message could not
be delivered to one or more recipients. It's attached below.

For further assistance, please send mail to <postmaster>

If you do so, please include this problem report. You can
delete your own text from the attached returned message.

                   The mail system

<BOUNCE@de003160.idaq.com> (expanded from <mail@shgmodels.com>): unknown user:
    "bounce"
[/u]

Both Jerome & Sue recently answered my previous emails advising they were having major spam problems but when I replied they were bounced.

My limited understanding, is that it may indicate the email address is no longer active or they have changed ISP.

Very strange.

Thank you.

I have today sent an email to:   info@shgmodels.com   (not to mail@shgmodels.com).

It did not bounce.
