Oh yes someone mentioned the 24 hours of LeMans, great except that we had a power cut in the early hours. Still I got a bit of shut eye and carried on with it for breakfast. Football and Tennis forget it. Got a great couple of days in July when there is a third place play off and a Final, I'm travelling through France hopefully with empty roads. :-)) :-))

Frankly I think one is better off going and doing something interesting (if you can) rather than watching other people doing things, but I was quite chuffed to hear the Swiss had seen off the Spaniards. I only saw the first half 'cos we took the dogs for a walk, but I fully expected to get home and hear the Dons had banged in 3 or 4. So it was a very pleasant surprise - and didn't the N Koreans do well the other day? Shame about the doctor's leg - I wonder if Casey will fall off quite so often without Vale to mess with his head. F1 has got a bit less boring than usual recently. Sport? I can take it or leave it.

I am travelling up to the Silverstone Classic in July, went last year and loved it, get to see the cars up close, talk to the drivers and mechanics, wonderful. If you cannot make it watch MOTORS TV about 20 races shown live over 2 days.

Thanks, Alan, I'll try to remember that, though to me it ain't really sport more a very fast display.  Classic motor racing is different. Those old guys really want to win.  Some of them are considered top drivers amongst all the current professionals.  Martin Stretton was once considered for F1.  And Willie Green has had an enviable task of racing just about anything that'll move for decades for other people.  Dirty job but somebody has to do it, eh?

Alan,
lovely bloke, Willie. He doesn't race, but he still tests for people. I was down at Jim Stokes' place a while back and Willie was bringing in an Alfa P2 he'd just been thrashing with a dodgy gearbox!
So he still keeps his hand in.
My son bought his Subaru off him for a VERY good price!  He used to work for a guy that Willie often drove for.
