seawolf front planes mod
« on: June 21, 2010, 08:01:27 pm »

I eventually got round to activate the front planes by installing a mini servo and going through the aft bulkhead with a ubend in the connecting rod and a magnet on the end.
This connects to a long rod directly that push/pulls the planes. I have a leveler on the rear planes.

I have trialed the sub and at first she dived and surfaced as it says on the tin but on the last sail I had problems, will report back when sorted.

Here are some pics for your purusal. ;D

I have been considering how to do the same on my sea wolf.

I think my approach would be to fix a servo inside to WTC and go through the front bulkhead. Then I would need to connect the servo to the receiver when I prepare the sub

I find, the only problem with that, is you will have to find a way to connect the servo to the planes when you re-insert the tray into the
WTC?  :o

"o" ring either end, don't glue the front end cap on, fix the servo in the front end cap, then use a servo extension lead to connect to thr receiver. simples.

This was my first model for a long time so ' I WAS ONLY OBAYING ORDERS' and fixed the front O ring.
Subsequently after joining Mayhem I have seen the error of my ways.

Thanks

I would fix the servo in the WTC, not on the tray.

The servo is in the WTC on the equipment tray, sorry for any confusion :o
