Dicky,  She looks lovely,  but my wife wants to know how you can finish it so nicely and so quickly
By my reckoning it took you about a month - thats the length on time it has taken me to wire up
to boat, and 18months since I started.
One question where did you get the figures on the decks.

Geoff
I do it quick because I dont work Geoff.

The figures came from Deans  http://www.deansmarine.co.uk/shop/product_info.php/cPath/5_15/products_id/231

I'm retired as well, but I seem to have less time for myself than I did when I was working.
Thanks for the info on the figures - 2 packs ordered this evening
Whats the next project now?

Dicky, sorry I haven't replied - I must have missed your comment on the 5th.  Yes I knew you were not
well but I did not know what was wrong. You have to be very careful I suppose with the painting side of
modelling and filing and sanding.  I have just been looking at your SRCMBC web at your list of boats,
you could always have a change of direction and do something like HMS Victory all the rigging would keep
you busy for ages or drive you mad.  Also, you know the Hampshire area dont you, as we are renting a cottage
up the Meon valley (I havent been back since I left training at HMS Mercury  in 1963) but what I wanted to know
was which of the Museums in Pompey are the best to visit . I have heard the Explosion museum is very good
plus the RN musuem. SWMBO has promised me as many days as I need for the visits so I want to make sure
I dont miss anything nautical and worth seeing.  Any comments would be helpful.

Geoff,
I think the Explosions museum is only open on weekends as funding has been cut.
Might be worth a look on the website though.

Hi Shipmate - I think Sheila has already checked the museum website and it gave the opening hours
through the week - just in case website has not been updated will give them a ring as I had heard it was cutting
back or possibly closing altogether.

Thanks Dicky we are going to try to fit them all in. She has mentioned visiting some relative in Kent on the
way home and my first thought was "Chatham Historic dockyard" but I shall have to lead up to that very
gently or she might try some of her surgical skills on me without anaesthetic.
Have you decided on the next build yet.

Possibly Geoff, it could have an Australian background.

If you are down my way pop in for a cuppa.

Well you will have plenty to pick from if you are thinking past and present. I've  just had a look,
loads from us over the years plus U.S. and now German.
Thanks for the offer - if we are planning to get over towards the New forest I will pm you before
we come south - First week in September we are leaving here.

Re: Deans HMS Javelin build maiden voyage.

At long last we had the maiden voyage.

With two 7.2v battery packs side by side in front of the motors she didnt need any more ballast.

Even though it was fairly windy she sailed well.

Hello Richard, she's a stunner! really looks superb on the water. How long and heavy is she?  was it a complex build - there's so much detail it really does look great, I like it a lot.  :-))

Hope your feeling a little better than the last time we spoke and that the good lady's knee is well on the mend.

                                              Kind regards, Tony.

Another fantastic build! And quick too! Even if I didnt have to work and have all that 'spare' time, I'd never get a build done so quick.

Deffo gets a  :-)) from me.
