Terrahawks takes to the water...finally!!!
« on: July 09, 2010, 07:32:38 pm »

This started off as a basic George Turner vac-formed speed boat hull, well, and then I was in the mood to be a little different!

I was, and still am, a massive fan of Terrahawks from the 1980's television series by Gerry Anderson. In the the show there were many flying machines. there was even a tank, apptly named "Battle Tank", but there was always something missing and that I felt was a boat. So with the help of my panel scriber, Letroset tape, EMA domes and some plast-struct I began setting out designing something the Terrahawks would have used.
The silver and orange was a rattle can from Halfords, the (01) numbering plus the smaller bars and circles were sprayed on using a stencil. The Battle Zoid was an EMA clear dome, the mast, exhaust was all from simple plasticard.
I've yet to fit the Battle Boat out with electronics, not sure which route to go as regards motors, speedcontroller etc at the moment, still thinking  {:-{

First pic is was obtained from the internet to give me colours scheme to follow.

Excellent!   :-))
 Very subtle paint job.  What are the eyes made from?

Thanks Martin  :-)

The eyes are kit bashed parts from a Hasegawa 1:72 Abrams Tank kit. I painted them in Tamiya Gunmetal, dry brush Chrome highlights and iris, then painted Tamiya Clear Blue for the lens.

Glad you like it, just fancied doing something a little different for a change.

With regards to me being Mr Anderson, well, I've just got my bank statement and after seeing my balance I can guarantee you all  I'm not him lol. He must be worth millions that guy.

Very artistic Voyager, most unusual and lovely paint job. :-))

            Pity the manicurist wasn't so fussy with the thumbnail though.   {-)

                                       Regards, Tony.

Thanks Tony

I only hope it'll go as good as it looks when all the running gear is installed.
