Revel Snowberry

The Revel Snowberry kit lists the colour 55 as LIGHT GREEN.
It seems not to be available in acrylic but is available in MATT ENAMEL, however........
The enamel colour is more blue than it is green and the illustration on P62 of John Lambert/Les Brown's book on the Flower class shows the colour as blue based.
So who is right? See http://scalemodeldb.com/paintcharts/revell and colour 32155
Colour 55 is used to make up colour N (70% of 55 and 30% of 57)
Colour C is also dubious per John Lambert's book (ISBN 978-1-84832-001-7).
Also, were any TWO of the class identical - if so which ones?
Comments, please

According to my trusty Humbrol colour chart, Revell 55 equates to Humbrol 65 ( Aircraft blue) which equates to Tamiya XF 23 in acrylic. I think the colour you may need however is duck egg green, this is listed as beige-green number 90 or Tamiya XF-21 in acrylic....Hope this makes sense and is of some help....Smudge.. O0

XF23 - That's where I am "Swordfish Fairey". I think that I believe John Lambert more than Revel on the colours but I WOULD like to know the source of the information. Date and directive must be published/listed somewhere - if you know where to look.
P49 of JL's book shows Ted Taylor's corvette and his colours are similar to the illustration on P72.
Guess some remixing and a repaint are the order of the day.
Thanks

Simply buy Western Approaches Blue or Green (as required) from White Ensign Models. Absolutely authentic colour straight out of the tin.

Early WA designs used both colours over white (off-white, really), but a shortage of green pigment led to the later blue and white designs.

Makes you wonder how every one else did this kit.

It does when you read JL's book and the kit inaccuracies. Nitro heads have to start somewhere on scale - seemed like a good idea at the time!

Jonty advised "Simply buy Western Approaches Blue or Green (as required) from White Ensign Models" - found out about WE a bit earlier today - Thanks

I've been waiting for WE paint for several months for my Flower. I have been told by the company they are awaiting deliveries from their suppliers.

As a result of my experience I'd advise asking then is they have the colours you need in stock before ordering.
