SPG-51 director
« on: July 23, 2010, 08:47:20 pm »

I am looking for good info of the SPG-51 directors that were used on Adams class destroyers anda also on the 4 Sherman class DDG's, also used on California class CGN's and also on CLG's. I need to find good photos that show all views around the director and even drawnings if any are out there.

Navy2000....you must understand that it was a criminal offence  :police: to carry a camera at work @ such naval establishments ...........if found guilty = life imprisonment

The class 51 radar/directors on the Adams class destroyers were principally for the FMC manufactured GMLS13 Tatar missile system & the tracking & hence guidance of such deployed missiles toward the target  :-))

GOOGLE will provide you with plenty of additional information......

:} ....here is a snap from 02/10/1985 where we lifted the first GMLS13 missile launcher system from an Australian DDG....HMAS Perth @ my work place GID.....Derek....... [the one to the right of the snow flakes O0]
